Hovercraft

Sometimes in life, we fashion an artistic animus that over time, becomes a cage that confines us. Sometimes we try different things to keep the animus from becoming stale, and redundant. Sometimes we overhear a song that makes us want to kill, kill, kill, until we are hip-deep in blood and viscera.

Rap To Which I Do Listen

There’s an itch that rap music scratches that no other kind of music does. For this reason, I have a longstanding love-hate relationship with the genre. But the fact remains; I always come back to it. Once I realized I was listening to it alone, when there was no one around to impress, I figured I enjoyed the form enough to jabber about it sincerely.

The Individual Must Die

Of course I was spoiled growing up. We didn’t just have The Muppet Show (and Fraggle Rock!) on TV- we knew the name of the man who brought the Muppets to life; Jim Henson. We even knew that the man who voiced “Miss Piggy”, Frank Oz, guest-starred in one of the biggest sequels of all time, as a little green alien called “Yoda”.

I Saw Ween

Thanks to a good buddy of mine, I got to see Ween at the Tabernacle. (Those are some other guys’ heads blocking the shot, though.)

During one of the most stressful moving experiences of my existence on this planet (and I’ve had some doozies), I got to see Ween, after being a fan of them for 27 years.

Cannibal Corpse

This is one of the earliest strips and frankly I was too hard on ol’ Cannibal Corpse. I wrote the first strips while living in rural South Carolina. I’m still friends with the dude in the first panel but at the time I didn’t know where any of the old gang were. I was crabby and malnourished in general because I didn’t figure out a proper diet until around four years ago.

Orangy

At present there is no Wikipedia page for Orangy, so I will speak only for myself and quote the rest.

Orangy – DIDNT CAR/Breakbit Music BKBT0093/MP3, 320kbps/2010, USA

I first heard Chicago artist Orangy’s music in a Million Dollar Extreme sketch called “Ideas Man”, but I didn’t know who it was until much later. As I said in the Million Dollar Extreme review, their videos often intrigued you with their musical selections.  Continue reading
